<p class="mb-6">Tomasz Stańczak, nommé co-directeur exécutif de l’Ethereum Foundation début 2025, a annoncé qu’il quittera son poste à la fin février 2026.</p>
<p class="mb-10 max-w-xl">La succession sera assurée par Bastian Aue, qui occupera ce poste aux côtés de Hsiao-Wei Wang. Aue prendra d’abord un rôle intérimaire pour accompagner la transition, tandis que Stańczak a indiqué vouloir rester impliqué dans l’écosystème Ethereum après son départ officiel.</p> <h2 class="text-2xl font-bold mb-4">Des critiques internes bousculent la gouvernance</h2>
<p class="mb-6">La nomination de Stańczak n’avait pas fait l’unanimité au sein de la communauté Ethereum. Des critiques avaient émergé sur le processus de sélection et sur la structure même du leadership à la fondation, poussant à une réorganisation. Ce contexte explique en partie l’anticipation autour du duo Wang-Aue, dont les premiers pas seront scrutés par les acteurs du secteur.</p>

<p class="mb-6">Vendredi dernier, Trump Media and Technology Group (DJT) a déposé une demande pour lancer deux nouveaux fonds négociés en bourse (ETF) crypto : le Truth Socil Bitcoin and Ether ETF et le Truth Social Cronos Yield Maximizer ETF. Le premier suivra la performance du Bitcoin (BTC) et d’Ethereum (ETH), avec une allocation respective d’environ 60% pour BTC et 40% pour ETH. Ce fonds proposera aussi des récompenses issues du staking d’Ether, c’est-à-dire des intérêts générés par la participation au fonctionnement du réseau Ethereum.</p>
<p class="mb-6">Le partenariat avec Crypto.com est central dans cette opération : l’entreprise agira comme dépositaire des actifs numériques et fournira les services de staking nécessaires à ces produits financiers. Les nouveaux ETFs devraient voir le jour dans les prochains mois selon plusieurs observateurs du secteur financier.</p>
<p class="mb-6">L’action Trump Media a terminé vendredi à 10,98 dollars, soit une hausse journalière de 0,9%, mais affiche tout de même une chute marquée de près de 39% sur les six derniers mois. Ce contraste illustre l’incertitude entourant l’appétit des investisseurs pour ces nouveaux instruments financiers liés aux cryptomonnaies.</p>  <h2 class="text-2xl font-bold mb-4">3,85 millions d’ETH blanchis via Tornado Cash</h2>
<p class="mb-6">Dans la nuit du jeudi 12 février 2026, un wallet lié au piratage massif du Mixin Network en septembre 2023 a transféré 3,85 millions de dollars en Ethereum vers Tornado Cash. Ce service permet d’anonymiser les fonds en les mélangeant avec ceux d’autres utilisateurs, rendant leur traçabilité difficile voire impossible. Le wallet était resté inactif près de deux ans avant ce mouvement soudain repéré par Arkham Intelligence.</p>
<p class="mb-6">Les fonds ont transité par un portefeuille inconnu identifié comme « 0x9c », puis ont été divisés en vingt transactions distinctes avant d’atterrir sur Tornado Cash. Pour rappel, le hack initial avait causé une perte totale estimée à environ 200 millions de dollars pour Mixin Network. Après l’incident, Mixin avait suspendu dépôts et retraits et promis une compensation partielle : 50% en stablecoins immédiatement et le reste sous forme de créances tokenisées.</p>
<p class="mb-10 max-w-xl">En octobre 2025, Mixin Network a émis trois catégories différentes de tokens de dette – MDTu, MDTb et MDTe – afin d’organiser le remboursement progressif des victimes ; seul MDTu (23 millions de dollars) devrait être intégralement remboursé d’ici septembre 2026 selon le calendrier annoncé.</p> <h2 class="text-2xl font-bold mb-4">Staking ETH au cœur des nouveaux fonds</h2>
<p class="mb-6">Le Truth Social Bitcoin and Ether ETF ne se contente pas d’exposer les investisseurs aux variations classiques des prix du BTC et de l’ETH : il intègre également les revenus issus du staking Ether. Cette stratégie vise à capter une partie des rendements générés par la sécurisation du réseau Ethereum grâce au mécanisme dit « proof-of-stake » (preuve d’enjeu).</p>

<p class="mb-6">Dan Romero et Varun Srinivasan, figures de proue du réseau social crypto Farcaster lancé en 2020, ont choisi de tourner la page après l’acquisition de leur projet par Neynar.</p>
<p class="mb-10 max-w-xl">L’annonce est tombée quelques semaines après que Neynar, fournisseur d’API et d’outils pour développeurs Farcaster, a finalisé le rachat du protocole, prenant ainsi la main sur ses smart contracts, son code source, l’application mobile et même Clanker, une plateforme de lancement de tokens IA.</p>
<p class="mb-6">Romero et Srinivasan ne partent pas seuls : plusieurs membres clés de Merkle, la société derrière Farcaster, quittent également le navire. Simplifier les paiements transfrontaliers en s’appuyant sur les stablecoins, ces cryptomonnaies indexées sur des monnaies fiat comme le dollar ou l’euro.</p>
<p class="mb-6">D’après dlnews.com, Tempo a su attirer dès fin 2023 des profils reconnus du secteur : Dankrad Feist (ex-Ethereum Foundation), Liam Horne (ancien CEO d’Optimism Labs) et Mallesh Pai (professeur à Rice University) ont rejoint le projet. Ce recrutement ciblé vise à renforcer la crédibilité technique et académique autour du réseau de paiement en construction.</p>
<p class="mb-10 max-w-xl">La feuille de route prévoit un lancement public plus large courant 2024 ; pour l’instant, peu d’informations filtrent sur les volumes visés ou les partenaires commerciaux déjà engagés.</p>

Cette restitution massive intervient alors que beaucoup attendaient un redéploiement stratégique ou une réorientation vers d’autres produits sociaux décentralisés.</p>

Après quatre années passées à bâtir une communauté autour de Farcaster, Romero et Srinivasan choisissent aujourd’hui de miser sur l’infrastructure financière plutôt que sur le réseau social décentralisé. Les deux entrepreneurs étaient respectivement vice-président chez Coinbase (pour Romero) et responsable ingénierie/produit (pour Srinivasan) avant leur aventure commune ; leur expérience dans la fintech semble peser lourd dans ce choix stratégique.</p>
<p class="mb-6">Dan Romero résume sa vision dans un message publié sur X : « Stablecoins are a generational opportunity. » La déclaration donne le ton : pour lui comme pour son associé, les paiements mondiaux via stablecoins représentent désormais un horizon plus prometteur que la bataille féroce des réseaux sociaux web3.</p>
<p class="mb-6">La transition s’explique aussi par le contexte : malgré une adoption croissante des plateformes sociales décentralisées depuis 2020, peu d’entre elles ont réussi à dépasser le stade communautaire pour générer un usage massif ou récurrent comparable aux géants traditionnels. Pour Tempo, soutenu dès l’origine par Stripe et Paradigm – deux acteurs ayant bâti leur réputation sur des infrastructures robustes –, l’objectif est clair : faire décoller enfin les paiements blockchain au-delà du cercle crypto-natif.</p>
