What our earlier coverage warned
Our earlier coverage described how the Drift Protocol exploit on Solana led to the loss of more than $270 million in under a minute, after an attacker manipulated Solana’s “durable nonces” and tricked
Checking Ethereum’s current market reality
As of July 19, 2026, Ethereum (ETH) is priced at $1,868.75. Over the past 24 hours, ETH has seen a negligible change of +0.01%, with similarly stagnant movement over the last week (+0.04%) and month (+0.10%). The all-time high for ETH remains $4,946.05, which was reached on August 24, 2025—several months before the Drift Protocol incident described above. ETH continues to hold its position as the second largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization.
ETH’s price has not dropped below $1,800 at any point since the Drift Protocol hack in April 2026.
There is no evidence in this data that Ethereum’s price or rank has been significantly impacted by the aftermath of the Drift exploit.
Did the hack affect ETH’s trajectory?
The old article noted that after draining assets from Solana’s Drift Protocol, the attacker swapped them into USDC and bridged most to Ethereum. However, based on current market information, ETH’s price has remained nearly flat since then, with only a +0.10% change in the last 30 days. Its status as number two in market cap also remains unchanged as of July 19, 2026. There is no indication here that either a selloff or panic linked to laundered funds from Drift has occurred on Ethereum itself.
No price collapse or volatility spike can be confirmed from these numbers alone.

The verdict: No visible impact—at least for now
Based strictly on available data—ETH price at $1,868.75, negligible changes over all short-term periods provided, and an unchanged number two ranking—there is no sign that the Drift Protocol exploit or associated laundering through Ethereum has materially affected ETH’s market standing or value as of July 19, 2026. Whether law enforcement or further regulatory action will follow remains outside what can be confirmed here; but for now, any fears raised in our earlier coverage about knock-on effects for Ethereum have not played out in the numbers.
